BSD DONNASQUEAK TYRE – REVIEW

BSD hit the nail on the head when they released the BSD Donnasqueak tyre. For whatever reason, many of us are a little obsessed with having our tyres squeak when we land… Tough to explain, but trust me, the squeak is real. BSD cleverly managed to combine an incredibly popular rider, Alex Donnachie, with a well-designed (and squeaky) tyre. They even got Alex D’s name into the product name. Genius.

BSD is a Scottish BMX brand with one hell of a team. Their momentum can be traced along with the success of the riders who they sponsor – just look at Kriss Kyle, Alex D, Reed Stark, David Grant and Dan Paley. Some of these guys are almost brands in their own right. BSD has kept the fire lit with great products and arguably some of the best video content of any brand, thanks to the efforts of Dave Sowerby. Transmission, BSD’s feature length team video, is the perfect example of the kind of polished, highly considered video work Sowerby produces. Pair that strong brand image with a reputation for high quality parts, and you have a genuinely strong BMX company.

After a few years of success with the Donnasqueaks, BSD recently decided to revamp the design a little and the new Donnastreet tyre is what they’ve come up with…

With a tear resistant silkworm casing, colours from black to white via ‘Chocolate’ and ‘Surplus Green’ and their grippy, squeaky rubber compound, it’s another successful tyre from BSD.
