Hailing from the United Kingdom, but distributed around the world, BSD is a rider-owned BMX parts and accessories company. It has come a long way since its foundation in 1991, and was named Ride UK BMX brand of the year in both 2011 and 2012. With clean designs and a creative approach, BSD offers something for every park, street or trail rider, including frames, forks, handlebars, tyres, hubs and hubguards, stems, seats, cranks, sprockets, chains, grips, pegs, bearings and a range of apparel.
Heading up its offering are a number of top-quality frames. Top of the range is the Kriss Kyle-endorsed ‘Passenger’, with a 75° head angle, tall standover, beefy tubing, new external DT and TT gussets, super-wide rear end for fat tyres, internally relieved headtube, built-in seatclamp, tiny dropouts, mid bottom bracket and removable brake hardware.
Other frames include David Grant’s signature brake mount-free ‘Raider’, which, with steeper and taller headtube, higher BB and a massive 9.3” standover, is suitable for taller riders. Also available is the ‘WZA V3’, as used by Mike ‘Jersey’ Taylor, the ‘Wherizona Beverage’ in a one-off trans orange with custom Wherizona graphics, Tony Malouf’s ‘Beverage’ and the ‘Too Loose’, designed by French street legend Anto Lille.
Other riders that are part of the BSD pro team include Reed Stark, Alex D, Dan Paley, Luc Legrand, Liam Zingbergs, Jeff Cadger, Jason Teet and Sam Jones. There is also a large flow team including Greg Layden and Chaz Mailey, and a vets team featuring Dave Sowerby, Gogo, Scott Timmins and Grant Smith.
