PROFILE RACE CRANKS – REVIEW

Another unmissable entry into the 100, another classic BMX product. The Profile Race Cranks have spanned all eras of BMX and continue to be a solid choice – they’re legendary.

They are the classic three-piece tubular cranks, basically. It’s the stamped logo, it’s the chrome, it’s the variety of options available… Profile cranks are the real deal.

Since 1981, Profile Racing have been manufacturing American made quality BMX parts. With over 35 years of experience making their products in house in their Florida headquarters, the Profile Racing brand certainly carries a strong reputation.

“You shouldn’t buy our products just because they are made in the USA. You should buy them because of the quality we put into them as well as the serviceability of each product. We don’t manufacture throw-away products. We manufacture products designed and then manufactured to last for years and perform under the most strenuous conditions.  And, they look great too.” –Profile Racing

Profile offer many options when you’re buying cranks from them. As well as the different versions – from the Race cranks we have pictured here to the beefier Column cranks more suited to street riding – there are also many options for axles and bolts. You can specify chromoly or titanium for the axle itself, the axle bolts and even the sprocket bolt. It’s no wonder that many park riders looking for a lightweight setup choose Profile and upgrade to titanium. You can even choose the axle length to avoid carrying any excess material in there.

“The stamped logo, the chrome, the variety of options available… Profile Race Cranks are the real deal.”

Another important option is the crank arm length. Profile offer a mad number of options in this area – from 160mm to 190mm in tiny increments so everyone can have their perfect length.

Profile back their chromo arms and spindles with a lifetime warranty, naturally. Another nice thing about Profile cranks is that all parts are available separately, so if you do have any issues or just want to upgrade to a titanium part, you can. Splendid.
