PROFILE MINI HUBS – REVIEW

Profile Mini hubs and especially the Profile Mini Cassette are true icons of the world of BMX parts. A global success, from their timeless aesthetics to their signature click, the Profile Minis are first class.

Since 1981, Profile Racing have been manufacturing American made quality BMX parts. With over 35 years of experience making their products in house in their Florida headquarters, the Profile Racing brand certainly carries a strong reputation.

“You shouldn’t buy our products just because they are made in the USA. You should buy them because of the quality we put into them as well as the serviceability of each product. We don’t manufacture throw-away products. We manufacture products designed and then manufactured to last for years and perform under the most strenuous conditions.  And, they look great too.” –Profile Racing

“A global success, from their timeless aesthetics to their signature click, the Profile Mini Hubs are first class.“

If you’ve never had a set of Profile hubs, I’ll bet money you know several people who have. They’re one of the most popular hub sets of all time, without question – these hubs are seen (and heard) everywhere. Not just on freestyle BMX bikes either, you’ll see these on race setups, mountain bikes and even a few single speed road bikes. Their legendary reputation has made them a firm favourite for anyone who believes in that American-made quality. Profile say they designed Mini Cassette Hubs to be the best all around hubs available, and that they’re suitable for trails, racing, street, and park use. Yep.

One of the coolest things about these hubs is that they’re totally customisable. You can basically BYOH – build your own hub! The options are almost limitless…

First up, choose your hub colour. Options range from the standard options to the limited edition special versions, like Lima’s signature paisley pattern. You can obviously choose to have a titanium axle if you’re keen to save weight, or opt for regular chromoly… But then you’ve got the male / female axle choice, what kind of bolts you want, driver options, etc, etc. It’s nice to have options!
