DEMOLITION RIG CRANKS – REVIEW

If you’re Dennis Enarson, you ride BMX at a very high level. You do super gnarly stuff on massive set ups on the regular and need to trust your bike parts with your life. Everything need to be legit.

The Rig cranks from Demolition are Enarson’s signature cranks. That means they are designed to withstand the highest level of BMX riding and are dependable enough for him to put his name to them. They’re also favoured by most of the Demolition team, too.

“The Demolition Rig Cranks are Dennis Enarson’s signature cranks. Say no more…”

Some words from Dennis himself:

“These things are my favourite piece of the whole Rig line so far. There’s nothing I can say bad about them. Somehow [Brian] Castillo and the guys made these things beefy but also just as light as a normal crank. When you catch whips they don’t kill the arch of your feet like really small cranks do.

I haven’t worried about welds cracking or anything since I’ve had them. I don’t have to check them, I just have so much trust in them. They’re the only cranks, actually, that I haven’t cracked, so I guarantee these bad boys.” –Dennis Enarson

Put simply then, these cranks are built to be the strongest they can possibly be. Let’s take a look at the stats.

Forged 24mm heat treated CRMO spindle. 24mm is as big as you can realistically make a crank spindle in a mid bottom bracket, so that’s what Demolition have chosen for these cranks. It’s hollow, has 48 splines and is built to resist any kind of twisting or impact you could ever throw at it. Bigger is better.

Heat treated crank arms that are internally ridged for extra stiffness. These are quite chunky cranks – they look strong and hefty without seeming too bulky. Faith in your footing.

Spindle bolts are standard ratchet fit, so you can do them up good and tight with all the torque of your ratchet tool.

Available in 165mm, 170mm and 175mm. Those 4-peg grind hounds looking for shorter arms will be happy with the 165s, while the other options cater for those looking for more traditional lengths.

Finally, the crankarms and spindle are backed by a lifetime warranty – say no more. These beasts will last!
