Will Jacko x pegger. This was the moment when I knew I needed to invest in flash guns. A few of us had made this ghetto ramp and Will turned up to shoot pics with Ricky Adam for Dig magazine. I wanted to get a shot too but needed to be out of the way of Ricky so climbed onto the roof. It was getting dark and I had no flash so decided to take my chances with a long exposure of about a second or 2 and steal Ricky’s flashes. With it being shot on film I had no idea if it would be over exposed or not so took an educated guess. 4 or 5 different shots were taken and when my roll of film came back I was delighted to see that one had come out so good. It was then used as a front cover for an Alans bike shop brochure.
Poor Russell invert. The pic of Paul Russell was taken on a Hotwheels trip to Scandanavia. I was invited as a rider and in true NJ style broke my hand on day one which left me with a film camera to keep me busy for 2 weeks. If you have ever been lucky enough to witness Paul Russell ride you will know that it’s something else and nothing short of a true entertainer with all the thrills and spills that come with it. This was a spot we got taken to which was actually in a school playground during school hours. The bump wasn’t really enough to give you any “POP” but Paul being Paul still managed to tweak this strange hybrid of invert/unlookback.
