2016 BEST EDITS: Round 1 – The UK

2016 really was an incredible year for web videos. There was a constant stream of amazing video work from around the globe, but right now we’re focusing on UK pros.

We are truly blessed to have so many interesting and exciting people out there in the UK BMX industry making decent content for our viewing pleasure. Compiling this list was a testament to that.

Here’s a run down of our top edits from UK dudes in 2016.

WETHEPEOPLE: Jordan Godwin 2016

Jordan Godwin banged everyone over the head with this one. Absolute beast mode all the way through!

Filmed and edited by Nick Wotton.

PROPER: Madrid

Proper videos always have a cool vibe about them and this one is no different. Crazy good rail moves from the crew, great spots, black and white, good tunes… Plus what could be the most perfectly executed gap to 2nd stage ice we’ve ever seen. Solid video.

Filmed and edited by Tonash Goodyear.

ISAAC LESSER: Build It

Isaac gets gnarly in this one, adding new ramps to the legendary ROM Skatepark to open up crazy lines and gaps. There are some serious WTF moments in here! Personally, I’ve watched this at least 10 times. So damn good. Mike King did an awesome job on this edit.

Check out some more highlights from Isaac’s 2016 HERE.

RIDE UK: Haro Bikes UK Tour

This was a great trip and I was very pleased to be part of it to film this video. Jason Watts joined the Haro UK dudes on a nice old fashioned roadtrip around the UK, finishing in Scotland. We stayed in yurts, caravans and other random spots and had a blast. Story and photos HERE.

BOYLEY JAM 2016

A staple of the UK scene, Boyley Jam this year looked rad as ever and this video screams good times.

THE WEBBIE SHOW 3

From the flair drop in on the scariest bowl in the UK, you know this video is wild. Mark Webb has done a staggering amount of things for BMX ramp riding, and in 2016 he gave even more. Mind-boggling stuff.

RIDE UK: Angus Gough – Talisman

Back in January, Angus and I spent a week or so cruising around Southern California, meeting up with friends and riding good spots. This was the result. I was stoked to use a song by a friend of mine for this one, perfectly suited to that Cali vibe. Music by Hollow Hand.

VANS: Ollie Shields 2016

Another quality Mike King production. Ollie Shields absolutely rips up spots in Barcelona and the UK, there’s a sweet graffiti theme to the edit and the song is dope too!

ANIMAL BIKES: Dan Boiski 2016

It doesn’t get much more UK than this. Dan Boiski with another impressive London street video, expertly put together by Peter Adam. This was a fun project – story and photos HERE.

NYISHAR: Alex Kennedy – Home For Winter

One of our favourites from last year – so different and so fitting. We all know AK runs his life carefully, with health foods and supplements in various concoctions, so it’s no surprise he can meditate and teleport too…

JASON PHELAN: Loch Down

Easily the most ambitious project on UK soil last year – Jason Phelan riding on a god damn BOAT. Some serious work went into this one, that’s for sure. Thank goodness there are people like Phelan in BMX thinking well outside the box – this is awesome. Filmed and edited by Mike King.
