UNITED SUPREME 2018 – REVIEW

The United Supreme 2018 is a tidy set up. This thing seems to be pretty much the ideal first BMX bike… Let’s take a closer look.

Started by Ian Morris in 2006, United Bike Co. has been pumping out some of the finest, most durable products on the market since its inception. Not unlike Ian’s riding, the brand is full-commitment and steadfast, all whilst maintaining one of the greatest BMX teams on the planet. With the likes of heavy hitters Corey Martinez and Nathan Williams on the team, plus key UK heads like Harry Mills-Wakley and Jimmy Rushmore, it is no wonder they’ve produced two of the greatest full length videos in BMX history, ‘This is United’ and ‘Still United’.

The Supreme certainly looks the part. United have their branding down to a tee – from the classic United logos to the script-style ‘Supreme’ text, it looks quality. We especially liked the headtube badge, with ‘U’ and ‘S’ crossed flags. It looks good.

Checking out the specs, the United Supreme 2018 is clearly aimed at riders looking to get into BMX. We’ve got a 20.25” toptube, which is a good shorter size for the younger rider, matched up with a 75º headtube angle and a 13.25” rear end. All this adds up to being a responsive frame, perfect for getting into BMX and learning a few tricks.

The bars give you a bit more room up front. They’re 9” tall and 28.5” wide, very much on spec with current BMX trend – it’s safe to say this is a bike with up to date geometry.

A pairing of aftermarket signature United parts make sure your hands and feet are on quality products – the Valentino pedals and Jimmy grips look and feel right on this bike.

One of the hardest decisions you’ll have to make is which colour to buy it in… The lush ‘glitter gold’ we have here or the rich ‘trans red’… Decisions decisions!
