PRO TEC FULL CUT CERTIFIED – REVIEW

The Pro Tec Full Cut… That classic retro shape… Do you love it? We do. Based on the original 1970s skate helmet, Pro Tec stand by this as the most recognisable helmet of all time.

With a style favoured by the trail riders and bowl roasters of the world, this is a helmet that’s often seen going fast and high. To give you one example, this is the helmet used by Larry Edgar. Larry goes higher than everyone else, fact. Dude is an animal. If he trusts this helmet for his navigation of the stratosphere then that’s good enough for us.

This shape has been around for a while, granted. However, the big difference here is that this is the Full Cut Certified, meaning the helmet (with its HDPE / ABS shell and EPS liner) has gone through a rigorous testing programme for safety.

That’s certified safety, good stuff indeed. To many, it’s a bonus. An important bonus. A few years ago we saw lots of riders using the skate / wakeboarding helmets with a similar shape, but they didn’t really offer much protection. The Pro Tec Full Cut Certified takes the retro shape and updates it with fully certified protection for BMX riding, so if you’re into this style then it’s a damn fine choice. If you prefer the regular helmet shape, then check out the Pro Tec Classic Certified helmet. In any case, style and protection is a great combo.
