Fuse have some decent technology in their products and have recently given their whole protection line a serious makeover. Hoping to inspire BMX riders to take their riding to the next level with added confidence, Fuse have added a bunch of new design features, materials and technological improvements to retain their ‘bullet proof’ reputation. Fuse pads are very well regarded and get put through their paces on a daily basis. They back up their products with a solid team containing the likes of Kriss Kyle and Jack Clark.

The pads now make use of Lycra, which offers incredible comfort and breathability, and at the same time a reduction in weight. The impact areas of the pads use a new super tough Neoprene and Cordura material for improved durability.” –Fuse

The Omega pads uses a SAS-TEC insert to protect your knees from impact. This is a viscoelastic polyurethane foam insert, designed for extreme shock absorption while still feeling soft and flexible. That means the protection doesn’t sacrifice manoeuvrability. SAS-TEC was designed in Germany to meet tough European safety standards for motorcycle protection, so this is high grade stuff.

Material wise, the Omega Knee Pad is a mixture of a Kevlar front section, breathable Lycra and ‘Dry Fit’ mesh back section. There’s an internal soft air plush lining to keep the pad well ventilated, plus compression Lycra with Kenesio™ bands (helping to combat muscle fatigue) and multiple sharkskin neoprene grippers to keep the pad firmly in place without the need for straps. That last point is one of the best things about this pad – there are no chunky straps to bulk up under your trousers.

All in all, the Fuse Omega Knee Pads are lightweight, tough, built to last. The perfect combo.
