CULT BUTTER PEGS – REVIEW

Smooth… Like butter… That’s how smoothly these babies grind. Cult Butter pegs have been around for a few years, are trusted by many, are here to stay.

Cult is quite the revered brand. Kicked off by Robbie Morales in 2010, it caused a fair amount of controversy when it was announced. It divided the then Fitbikeco. team, with some staying on and some (such as Chase DeHart) moving over to Morales’ new squad. Since then, Cult has obviously been a huge success, with a strong company image, a diverse team of riders and some of the most trustworthy products on the market.

Chase DeHart is a very stylish street rider. He has a habit of making even the simplest moves look so damn good, he has always left other BMX riders scratching their heads wondering how he does it. Known for his absolutely impeccable hop tailwhips, solid technique and classy peg work, DeHart is one of the most stylish street riders ever.

Along with the Cult Butter frame, the Butter pegs are Chase D’s signature part. They’re not officially guaranteed to make you slide an icepick like Chase, but whatever, we’ll take it.

Let’s take a look at the specs… The Cult Butter pegs have a heat treated 4130 chromoly core with a Perlon-Nylon 6 sleeve. (Cheap replacement sleeves are available separately.) The peg has a 35mm outer diameter – that’s a common size, the same as many metal pegs, so you know they’ll feel right at home on whatever you choose to grind them on. Length wise, they’re available in a regular 4” and an extra long 4.5”, for those who do a few more crooked grinds. These pegs are made for 14mm axles but comes with 3/8″ (10mm) adapters.
