Tom Dugan is part of the team at Fit Bike Co – the latest version of his super-stiff and strong US-made ‘Dugan’ signature frame has revved-up geometry featuring a steeper head tube, shorter rear end and a lower bottom bracket. There is also a ‘Dugan’ signature complete and some big bars. Tom’s other sponsors include Empire, Etnies and Odyssey, for whom he has a signature tripod saddle, frontload stem, grips and gloves.
Born in 1988 in the BMX hotspot of Austin, Texas, Tom started riding at the age of 10, and his first ‘real’ BMX was a Mongoose. Early on he developed a style that was about much more than just the riding – this is a guy who always looks to have fun, no matter what he’s doing.
When he does get on his bike, in competitions or on film, he is known for getting more air than most – typical was his performance at the Vans US Open in 2014 at Huntington Beach where he took the High Air prize, reaching an unofficial mark of 13 feet.
In 2012, he appeared twice on the list of nominees for Ride BMX’s NORA Cup awards, for Number One Ramp Rider and Best Video Part for his section in Empire’s ‘Bad Idea’. His performance in Dave Parrick’s masterful full length film, which featured high speed, big air, big fun and non-stop jamming, proved that there are very few riders out there who can match his style when boosting a transition.
