TSG DAWN HELMET – REVIEW

The TSG Dawn helmet is pretty rad. Obviously inspired by the old-school skate helmets of the 1970s, the look of those ear flaps and overall full-cut shape has become a popular style.

Helmets are improving all the time, as technologies improve and certifications get more advanced. TSG was the first company to become CPSC certified and continues to update its products for maximum protection and the best fit.

The TSG Dawn Helmet features 14 vents with TSG’s Air Flow system to reduce heat buildup inside the helmet. It’s designed to maximise air circulation, with channels of air drawing fresh air around the head and pushing stale air out.

Like the original Skate/BMX helmet, the Dawn’s hard shell construction combines a super strong injection-moulded outer shell and a shock absorbing EPS inner shell. The Dawn was the first of its kind, combining this old school shape with modern safety certification standards.

To optimise how it feels on your head, TSG have something called the ‘Tuned Fit System’. This allows the rider to adjust their fit using different thickness pads around the inside of the helmet. Each helmet comes with two different sizes of anti-allergenic, hand washable pads, so you should be able to get it feeling just right.

The TSG Dawn Helmet has been designed with a low fit. Obviously a helmet can only protect what it covers, so this lower fit makes sure the whole back and sides of your head are covered, without getting in the way of anything. Good stuff.
