FRIDAY RANDOMS: Whoppers!

I think you’ll all agree with this one… You can’t beat a good ol’ hop whip. This used to be a trick which seemed near enough impossible when I first started riding, now everyone seems to be able to do them! Undoubtedly a timeless trick which will always raise an eyebrow or two when one gets banged out at the end of a line or just at random, they’re always good for a good photo op with a good backdrop too. Either way, we asked you guys to send us your best whopper pics, spoke to a couple pro riders and put together a few quality whoppers for your enjoyment…

Archie Kenward.

Richard Coe.

At first I thought, “well they’ve bloody cut his 3/4 of his body out of the shot!” – Then I scrolled down… Nice use of a random puddle for this shot of Richard Coe here.

Corey Lively-Hammonds.

This one is a still taken from a video, but what the hell… Corey Lively-Hammonds popped this whopper off the stairs into the bank and I liked it.

Adam Laskey.

You may remember this picture from our NICESETUP feature a couple of months back. I couldn’t resist the repost though. Quality shot of Adam Laskey whipping in front of Deadpool!

Connor Worthington.

Connor Worthington fired this one over for me via the RideUKBMX group and it’s a good a whopper as any. Keep an eye out in future for Connor’s INSTA LIFE feature. Coming soon…

I hit up the homie Jordan Aleppo for a hop whip picture since I know he’s quite partial to one and he had a couple of recent snaps from Insta he was happy to share, I picked my favourite and here it is!

Hahaha there’s always one isn’t there? I asked for some hop whip pictures and within minutes Tyler MacEachern knocked together this photoshop and posted it in the comments. Not gonna lie, it did make me laugh.

A late but great entry from Dom O’mahoney sent over just in the nick of time before I stopped taking entries. Good height on that baby… Nice!

James Hayes.

James Hayes aka ‘Bear’ is an absolute beast at hop whips, this one in particular is a hop 180 downwhip captured by Scott Godwin.
