Southport Public Comment On BMXers Causing Damage And It’s Hilarious

This story “Trick cyclists damage town hall gardens” appeared this week in the local rag in Southport. They’re complaining about the damage caused from pegs to the architecture and features a couple of BMXers having a sesh (above).

Fair play, the general public have no idea what we do or why we do it. To the untrained eye this is criminal damage and we understand that. However, sneakily having a pop in the local paper or website isn’t going to resolve your issues. How about talking to the BMX and skate community directly and work with them to help provide or maintain facilities! It’s a better option than trying to make them look like criminals, because in the end we’ll make you look really silly in return.

The comments left in the story are hilarious! We’ve pulled some out for you to laugh at….

Bring back the birch. Incase you didn’t know is a reference to ‘the cane’. It was mindlessly used until the 1980’s to beat children up.

Another suggestion of attacking BMXers with a long stick. There’s a pattern emerging here.

Ahh yes more violence. Has Southport been taken over by ISIS or something?

Read that one in the style of Alan Partridge.

Read more comments here. There’s actually many supporting the riders. They even get stuck in themselves. Very entertaining.
