MONGOOSE JAM UK: Photo Gallery

Words and photos by Adam Lievesley

Well… What a rad weekend! Rush Skatepark was packed with the best BMX pros in the world for the 2016 Mongoose Jam UK. For those who don’t know, this was the first time that Mongoose have held the jam in the UK – it usually takes place at Woodward but this year they decided to mix it up, with a video contest in the US and this jam in the UK.

The idea behind the comp was that there were 6 Mongoose pros that headed up a team of 3 pro riders of their choice. They chose their 3 riders to compete in 3 disciplines – Park, Bowl and Street. At the end, all scores were combined to make a total team score. The final place in each team was to offered to any rider who placed 6th or above in the amateur comp, held on the Saturday. Once they were placed, they picked names out of a hat to determine which Mongoose pro rider team they would join.

Ben Wallace, roasting the bowl as the crowd looks on. He took 1st place at the UK Dirt Series in the same weekend!
Tom Isted is so damn good at these.
Kevin Peraza, beastly 360 invert.

The competitions were insane… The tricks that were getting sent were world class. Double flips, double flairs, triple whips and wallride barrel rolls to name but a few. The winning team, which Kevin Peraza headed, consisted of his brother Victor Peraza, Troy Hayward, Jack Clark and amateur rider Ross Domanski. Ross also won best amateur trick with a curved wallride to 180. All in all, everybody killed it and the vibe was amazing with a perfect mixture of riders across all three disciplines.

If you didn’t get chance to watch the riders at the Mongoose Jam, make sure to get yourself to NASS festival this weekend as the majority of the riders from the jam will also be battling it out at the BMX Worlds. See you there!

It's so rad to see Dean Cueson back on a bike. Classic casual style on the quarter.
Declan Brooks, super stretched can-can.
Greg Illingworth, 360 table over the box.
Pat Casey, flairwhip.
