British allrounder Ben Wallace is sponsored by companies including Monster Energy and Mongoose. He is an accomplished BMX rider in various disciplines, and has a trophy cabinet bursting with prizes he has won over the years, in the park, dirt and on the mini ramp. Basically, whatever you put in front of him, Ben will kill it.
Born in the UK town of Basingstoke, his favourite rider growing up was the legendary Dave Mirra. Ben is still based in his hometown, honing his skills at nearby Horsham Skatepark and at spots in and around Bournemouth. He has become a threat at all events, thanks to tricks like the triple tailwhip mixed in with his fluid rhythm on dirt.
Among the highlights of his competition record are a victories in the Street competition at the 2007 NASS festival, at Lords Of Dirt in 2010 and Red Bull Empire of Dirt in 2011 and 2012. Over the years, he has also performed solidly on the Dew Tour, culminating in 2011 when he finished fourth in Dirt. In 2013, he finished second at Red Bull Framed Reactions in Amsterdam.
In 2010, he broke his own world record for the highest BMX back flip – in front of a crowd of onlookers outside the Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing’s Olympic City, he went 8cm better than before to set a new record of 4.80 m. He has also appeared in some great videos, including one filmed in Berlin with the Monster Energy European team and a number for now-defunct brand Amity Bikes.
