From my perspective, Sem Kok appeared out of nowhere. At the Vans BMX Pro Cup 2017 in Malaga, Sem showed up and rode really well. From there, he was everywhere that summer – on his bike seemingly all around Europe, his name popping up on various Instagram feeds from trails jams and the like, always riding like a true boss.
At the Vans BMX Pro Cup 2018 in Malaga, Sem rode REALLY well. Incredibly well, actually. One of his runs was a major highlight of the weekend for me – especially when it finished with a 180 over the jumpbox. Like I said, true boss.
With all of that goodness and plenty more great riding in between, plus of course being a nice guy that people get along with and want to support, Sem earned himself pro rider status with Flybikes. As Sergio Layos is no doubt one of Sem’s favourite riders, it must be quite an honour to be representing the same brand and running Sergio’s signature Sierra frame.
