We thought we’d get some insight into the entries from UK riders and nudge you to vote for your favourite.
Q&A with James Jones
– Tell us about filming. Where did you ride, how long did it take, who filmed it?
I rode Rush Skatepark but had a clip from Asylum in it. Took about 2 hours as I only had that time frame! Joe Simkins (MTB rider from Essex) filmed it for me.
– Did you have to battle for any of the clips in this one?
Ummm the 5 flair clip took a few goes for some strange reason. But it wasn’t the 5 flair that was the problem it was the 3 downwhip, landing towards the bowl corner so realistically couldn’t throw the 5 flair.
– Do you have a favourite clip?
Probably the flair double whip as I really couldn’t be bothered to do it as it was 9am 😂

– What was your approach for the video? Did you go all out for this one to have the best chance of qualifying, or did you hold some things back for the next round?
If I’m honest I wasn’t going to do the video due to going on holiday but that got cancelled a few days back. So that’s why I was late filming and posted it a few days before voting ends. I tried to do a lot of tricks that I would have done in a normal contest.
– If you get into the final stages, what can we expect to see from you?
If I get through I’ll definitely prepare for the video as if it was a yearly edit! Will take a few days doing it and not 2 hours. And big up for Joe editing it all in a night while travelling to another gig.
– You must have kept a close eye on the competition. Any of the other entries you’re stoked on?
Yeah of course Logan’s was fire!! The guy is just too dialled! Also enjoyed watching Dec’s video, fast, high = teckers.
– Here’s the push… Why should people vote for you?
Vote for me because I have a hell of lot more to give! Got bangers that I’ve been working on which I couldn’t do at Rush. But with the preparation going into the finals I’ll have more time to get them done and Joe will have more time to edit. Thanks!
