BMX Vert is a heavy game, it’s not for everyone! Possibly the most difficult area of BMX to get into as a rider, yet arguably one of the most popular formats over the years. Talk to random people on the street and tell them you ride BMX and they’ll probably estimate and assume that you ride ‘those halfpipes and that’, although if what they have in their heads is a 14ft vert ramp or a council skatepark miniramp remains unclear.
Whichever way you look at it, vert is a very pure form of BMX – big ramps, big airs, big tricks. Historically it has seen some of the most advanced progression in terms of tricks, just look at the staggering number of things Mat Hoffman has invented on a vert ramp, and what those tricks have done for BMX in general.
BMX Vert at NASS is now a staple of the event – well attended and well appreciated. Check out some photos of the best moments below, and check out some video highlights HERE.
