Isaac gets about. He’s a busy dude. He’s got a signature frame out with Mankind, he goes far and wide on riding trips and amidst that he travels all over the UK building skateparks for Fearless Ramps.
A few months ago, I joined Isaac and Mike King on the last day of filming for Isaac’s Mankind ‘Getaway’ frame promo video. An early start on Brighton Beach to get the banger clip…
This trick was the final clip and banger for Isaac’s Mankind Getaway frame promo video. It demanded an early start to avoid the mid-summer crowds that flock to Brighton beach. That meant sending it at 8am, with no warm-up session.
The morning light was perfect. Warm summer sun basked everything – everything except the top portion of the sculpture where Isaac was doing the trick. I had to HSS (High Speed Sync) my flashes to make sure I could expose for the sky and still pop Isaac out of the shadow.
I photoshopped a portion of Mike King’s torso and camera stabiliser rig out of the bottom left of the image.
Mike King’s girlfriend, Theo, is off to the right of the frame capturing the third video angle.
Isaac is terrified of rats (despite having the nickname ‘Mole Rat’.) I had twenty pet rats in my flat and offered for him to come visit them. He declined politely…
