After 20 years of riding at the highest level and dreaming of launching his own brand, Christophe Huber founded the Mankind Bike Co. in 2004, with the aim of offering high quality, innovative and up-to-date BMX frames and parts. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Mankind immediately established a unique and distinctive feel in terms of style, graphics, materials and technical features.
Current frames on offer include signature models from US star Jeff Klugiewicz, German Björn Mager and Martyn Cooper from the UK. Also available is the ultra-slim ‘Justice’, designed for street and park riding, with 75° head tube, slim TT and DT, very low standover of 180mm, 13.25” slammed chain stay length and tapered chain and seat stays. All Mankind frames have investment cast head tube, seat and chainstay bridges and seat clamp.
Other products from Mankind include forks, handlebars, stems, hubs, sprockets, cranks and bottom brackets, headsets, pedals, pegs, u-brakes, grips, seats and small parts. It has also teamed up with the Cinema Wheel Co. to create a range of deluxe high-end stock wheels. Rounding out the Mankind collection is a range of flatland frames and parts.
The Mankind Pro team features Klugiewicz, Mager and Cooper, as well as American Rob DiQuattro, German rider Daniel Juchatz and Brit Isaac Lesser. There is also a Flow team with riders such as Boyd Hilder, Kim Moreno, Nil Soler and Jan Mihaly, plus flatland legend Michael Steingräber.
