Mike Miller is part of the UK line-up at British brand Proper. His signature frame for the company is the popular ‘TTL’, made from seamless 4130 chromoly with double-butted top tube and elliptically double-butted down tube, a 71 degree seat tube and new standover height of 8.7″. Mike is also sponsored by Premier BMX shop and Carhartt WIP.
Born on 28th July 1988, he grew up in the small town of Tadley in Hampshire. Despite its size, there is a tight and progressive scene in the area, and Mike developed into a creative BMXer with a carefree attitude to life. Starting on trails, he soon had a liking for jumps.
He established a name for himself as a contest rider, getting first place in street and spine at both the Worlds in Prague and the Masters in Germany in 2005, and he turned pro soon after. Since then, the good results have continued, with solid performances in Street at NASS 2008, a fifth place in Style in the Park competition at the 2011 Vans Rebel Jam, and some more crazy riding at NASS 2012, this time in Park.
In recent years, Mike has also appeared in some great edits – standout parts include a wild 2009 edit with Proper, in which he rides street, trails and ramps, another Proper video in 2013 edited by Sam Barrow, and ‘Chillin’ in Spain’, a 2013 collaboration with Carhartt WIP, filmed in the hills outside Barcelona.
