Teenager Daniel Sandoval is on the team at Total BMX. His signature products for the brand are the super-slim ‘Sandstorm’ pivotal-style seat, featuring a black kevlar covering with white stitching, and a soon-to-be launched ‘Sandstorm’ frame. He is also sponsored by Vans, Red Bull, Freegun and Albe’s.
Hailing from Corona, California, Daniel is certainly one of the craziest Park riders around. He began on the bike at the age of 11 in a skatepark down the street from his home, and he was soon making a name for himself in contests. His style is big and explosive – known for his amazing inverts, he also landed BMX’s first-ever double tailwhip 720 and tailwhip to barspin 720.
In competitions, he has had some excellent results, including fifth place at the 2012 Dew Tour stop in Ocean City, Maryland, eighth in his first X Games in 2012 in Los Angeles, and further top ten finishes in the 2013 X Games in Munich, Barcelona and Foz do Iguaçu. He’s also filmed for video parts, solo online parts and TV adverts.
After great performances in 2014 at Red Bull Dirt Conquers and at the X Games, he picked up his first major victory at the Vans Off The Wall Invitational at Virginia Beach. After a second place finish the previous year, Daniel’s big tricks over the box, huge double whips on the quarterpipe, a double whip over the channel, a 900 and a vader scuff nose manual were more than enough to move him to the top step of the podium.
