RTG – Proper Bike Co Day 7 & 8

Well the last couple of days on RTG were a mix of awesome riding and no riding what so ever. On Friday we hit up a small suburb of Amsterdam. Jamie knew of a bowl which we could go ride and get warmed up on, or at least knew the rough area. Basically we ended up getting a bit lost, but saw a load of street on the way. We found the bowl, which was a cool multicolored thing, with a volcano in the middle. Max (having rested are smashing his knee and face) and Miller got straight on it and were ripping around like locals after 15 minutes. If miller didn’t hit 10 ft at the bowl we went to in France then he certainly did here. Whatever town we were in certainly wasn’t short of street spots. There was something literally every 100 meters, be that a rail, ledge, bank spot or a combination of the above, it was ridiculous.

Jamie found a car to jump over (despite the pic looking like he is manualing the roof) to get a us a few more points, and Janis, who was on double points duty by wearing a balaclava all day as well as talking through the megaphone for the same duration, gave jamies bike a well needed lick of paint.
Max was the man of the day by sending an insane roof drop in to a huge bank. The roof had no run up and a small lip on the edge. Not ideal, and poor old Max had to do it 3 times over to get it clean, but he smashed it out to the cheers and applause of the locals who’d gathered to watch and film for Youtube.

The following day was to be spent commuting home so it was decided that we would go out to Amsterdam that night. As you can imagine the debauchery ensued. Some left earlier than others to get some sleep, others didn’t sleep at all.
Timing wise, we thought we’d be back at the Source with time to spare, but as it turned out Little Jamie left his passport at border control in Calais, meaning we had to wait an hour for the following ferry when we got to Dover as they had put it on there to be delivered. As it turns out, thanks in part to Jamie Camerons Minibus Rallying skills we are only about 15 mins late.

Well after the book were handed in and points counted up we came in 5th place. So sure we didnt win, but we had a sick time. It was a treat to hang out and get to know new faces, and ride some amazing spots. More of that to come in the RTG issue! Keep em peeled!
