Roy Van Kempen’s version of events…

Roy; “On June 12th I received a FB message from Federal TM: Joe saying that the Federal team including myself was going on a trip to Amsterdam from the 23rd till 29th of June.
I have lived in Amsterdam for over 7 years now so I was really stoked that I finally was able to show really good riders all the crazy spots that Amsterdam has to offer.

Lots of riders tend to travel into Rotterdam to ride the spots there. The reason is, they think that’s the only city known for good spots. This trip was my chance to show the world that Amsterdam isn’t all about prostitutes and weed.

The crew on the trip was heavy:

Jordan Aleppo: Famous for his Twitter/Facebook updates and one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met, not to mention a sick rider too! Jordan was always stoked to be back at the apartment so that he could check his Tinder app and to get ready to party.

Carlo Hoffmann – Four piece bars, rusty frame, Carlo isn’t just Bruno’s little brother. Carlo has his own riding style which seriously is too crazy. Definitely the rail slayer of the trip.

Michal Smelko – Michal already came to Amsterdam in the Winter but because of the shitty weather we were only able to ride indoor skateparks. Now he was able to use his coaster and four pegs in the Amsterdam streets. Michal is one of the best coaster riders, you will agree with me after seeing the video.

Jason Eusthathiou – One of the most underrated riders for sure! Jason is super dialed on a bike when the whole crew was warming up Jason already throw some bangers.

Athony Perrin – A quiet dude from France who let his riding speak for him. The whole crew went crazy after Perrin got the clip he wanted. His level of riding is insane. Plus he didn’t want to leave Amsterdam after the last party evening, that’s a good thing haha.

Fernando Gomarin (filmer) – In Barcelona the best guide you can find, on this trip he was filming all the bangers for the Federal family. Fernando pushes you (in a good way) as a rider to get the clip you wanted. I was really stoked to have him as a filmer on this trip!

“If you think that the only thing we did was go to coffee shops you are wrong!”

Every day we had the same schedule:

Wake up at 12, one of the guys made breakfast for the whole crew, I picked up the crew from the apartment around 1. Ride spots till 11pm, go back to the apartment eat dinner then go to bed.”

“Amsterdam has amazing spots but if you go to Amsterdam without a local as a guide you won’t find any. Everytime we arrived at a spot the crew thought it was crazy that nothing had been done, but because of the spots and the heavy crew lots of stuff went down on this trip!”

“I can’t wait to see the final result but I’m a 100% sure that this new Federal web video will blow your mind!”
