We here at Ride UK thought it would be a great idea to ask some of our favourite shops what they think you guys at home should spend some of your well deserved Christmas money on. These guys took part in The Shop Sessions so you know they’ve got good ideas. Each shop has provided a couple of options to suit whatever your budget and told us what you can get for your cash!
The Boardroom are based in the Republic of Ireland, so you can make the most of the Pound to Euro exchange rate and pick yourself up a bargain. The shipping isn’t astronomical either so always worth a look!
Animal Akimbo cranks:
These are some of the strongest cranks out there, with Animal making some serious moves recently and our ridiculously good price there’s never been a better time to spruce up your ride with some fresh Animal gear.

Fly Omega Complete:
The best sub £700 complete ever to hit our shop floor! A catalogues worth of Fly aftermarket components hung on full Chromo main components. The KHE based Trebol free coaster gives todays rider what they need too! A straight out of the box custom level bike for anyone getting started, getting back into it or wants to start over with their set up.
Hands down the most creative and fun edit of the Ride UK GoPro Shop Sessions. These guys know how not to take life too seriously!
United Supreme 2016 Parts Kit:
First up is the United Supreme 2016 Parts Kits at £439.99. I’ve always loved these kits as it makes getting a custom built bike more accessible. All you need to do is slap it on your favourite frame and you’ve got yourself a pro level set up for a great price. We are currently running an offer where you get a free United frame with the kits! Only two left though!
Odyssey Broc Raiford Grips:
Next is the our top selling Odyssey Broc Raiford Grips at £8.99. You’ve got to have a good set of grips and Broc’s signatures don’t disappoint. Long, soft and have a pre-worn feel to them straight out the box. They come with Odyssey Par Ends as standard which are one of the best bar ends out there. To top it off they feature rad nautical rope detailing. What more could you want?!
After many years in a church the Source guys are finally expanding! We can’t wait to see what awesomeness they come up with in their new place.
Jet Generate complete:
An impressive entry level bike from Jet BMX. It features some great parts for the price tag like the tubular sealed Mid BB cranks, Fully Sealed 9T cassette hub, Large 8.4 bars, tapered forks and slim padded seat/post combo. As well as the great value for money parts package the Generate features bang up to date responsive geometry and a great look thanks to the colour matching parts and choice of 3 colours. We wish bikes as good as this were available when we started out riding!
BSD M-Cap:
These are a genius idea from Dan Paley and BSD. All the benefits of push in plastic bar ends like being light and easy to fit and and they last ages due to metal surround. The best of both worlds!

Vocal Hitchhiker Freecoaster Hub:
What we like about this hub is the fact that you can convert it from a freecoaster hub to a Cassette Hub and vice-versa. We find that many riders want to try a freecoaster but struggle to get along with one when they do. So with this hub you can switch between freecoaster and cassette mode. Also available for the hub is drive or non drive hub guards.
For those using the Hub in freecoaster mode can changing the gap is simply removing the driver and replacing the gap washer to give you either a small, medium or large gap. Another thing we liked about the hub was the weight. Conventional freecoaster hubs tend to be extremely heavy in comparison. Where as the Vocal hub is no heavier than a standard cassette hub.
Several of the guys who work here have been running these and absolutely love them. So it’s always one of the first hubs we recommend when someone is looking at a freecoaster hub.
Firma bottle top cap:
Here is a normal alloy fork top cap in H24 or H25, which comes with a 6mm or 8mm adjustment. The cool thing is you can attach your favourite drinks bottle top cap to the top – simple as that. Show everyone your favourite tipple. It’s one of those items you don’t need but you want…

Southwest is best! Bristol based Crucial are well and truly into their racing (as well as all the other awesome aspects of BMX of course). If you’re thinking of hitting a track then check them out!

Shadow Conspiracy Crow Mid Pivotal Seat:
The reason we picked the Shadow Conspiracy Mid Pivotal Seat for our smaller item is because this seat has recently been re-released. The design comes from the OG Mid Pivotal seat that pretty much started the whole ‘fat’ seat movement many moons ago.
The seat’s been brought up to speed with a new shape, Shadow rear patch and Red/Black/White stitching. This classic will never go out of fashion.
