Ok, so I know this is a mountain bike trail, Delamere to be precise, but it’s one of the worse cases of sabotage we’ve seen. I mean, this is proper Game of Thrones shit, it’s no joke, this would literally kill someone. And Delamere is no stranger to this, 16 years ago a cyclist was killed, allegedly by a booby trap.

The photo was first posted up by TWELVE50BIKES, and we saw it over at Dirt mountain bike, who rightly described them as horrific. These stakes had been hammered into the ground directly beneath a drop, exactly where you land. We’ve seen acts like this before, when someone in Ipswich decided they’d try and behead someone by leaving head height, almost invisible wire, across cycle paths. I mean, what on earth are people thinking?

Twelve50 said on Facebook: “The vast majority of walkers, horse riders co-exist happily and share the forest without problems. However, it seems somebody has an axe to grind and has taken matters into their own hands.
Obviously the consequences of riding into this don’t really bear thinking about.
If you use the Forest and these trails in particular, please keep your eyes open and take care out there, especially if night riding. “

Luckily, no one was hurt and they have since been removed, but it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for these nutters down the trails. Pissed off dog walkers, ramblers and horse riders, or just general dick heads can get up to some pretty nasty stuff – Stay Safe.
