We featured the world’s first glow in the dark skatepark a while back so I guess this is technically an ABD, but it’s cool we now have first UK’s first glow-in-the-dark skatepark in Liverpool. I’ve had various people tag me in this post from the Liverpool Echo website and it’s causing quite a bit of a buzz, so here’s a bit of info on the project…
“Evertro, at Everton Park Action Sports HUB, is a new public art commission from Liverpool Biennial and the city council.”
The guys from Wheelscape Skateparks worked alongside leading South Korean artist Koo Jeong A and created the park which is now open for BMXers, skaters, etc. to use
“Key parts of the park structure have been painted with phosphorescent paint which glows at night and it is part of the Sports HUB, which includes a training area and BMX track.”
The artist Koo Jeong A worked with young people, riders & skaters from the North Liverpool area, everyone pitched in to design this new park and we think it looks quality!
So the only question remaining is… Who fancies a night session?
