So I’m sat in my living room right now looking out of the back doors. I live adjecsent to a canal so it always seems a little bit wet but today it’s also raining.

The weather forecasts said there would be sun on Saturday and Sunday so I was looking forward to ambling up to Cantalowes outdoor skatepark and possibly a mooch around the streets. But no. They were wrong. There has been no sun all weekend. I’m now into my fourth day without riding.

Usually it wouldn’t matter, and I’d forgotten, even after our long winter, how much the weather truly does affect not only the enjoyment of riding but of life in general. When the sun is out, I’m happy, and when the rain is here, I’m miserable.

Yes you can dig if it’s raining but I don’t want to dig. I want to ride my bike and with the closest skatepark being Corby and an hours drive away, motivating anyone to get up, showered and into the car is next to impossible. Especially since about everyone I know has a hangover.
