From Ride UK BMX Basics
The tyretap is a versatile trick that is the basis of a lot of deck tricks. You can learn these without brakes, but that is a whole other ballgame. So we don’t get ahead of ourselves, try them with a brake first.
Tip: Use the left / right arrow keys

01
Like a disaster , approach the quarter almost straight on, only this time you’re going to need more speed.

02
As your front wheel comes to the top of the ramp, you need to keep it up and out of the way. Start thinking about where the back wheel is going to go.

03
With that extra speed you have, you should pop out of the top of the quarter without too much effort. You’ll be airborne for a very short time. When this happens, you need to kick the back wheel out onto the deck so you’ve turned 90 degrees. Also, during this time in the air, slam the brake on.

04
The front end should be maintaining a fairly consistent height above the ramp. As the back wheel comes down onto the deck with the brake now locked up, compress down over the back wheel slightly.
