From Ride UK BMX Basics – Autumn 2013
The toothpick hangover aka toothy hanger. On low flat bars the hanger isn’t too hard but balancing them on blocks requires a bit more skill. If you’re good at nose manuals or feel comfortable on your front wheel, give this one a go.

01
The technique for toothpick hangovers is essentially the same doing them on either a flat bar or a block, the main difference being that on the latter you really need to throw yourself into it so that the back wheel doesn’t come down on the ledge.

02
With a regular toothpick hangover on a bar, you can aim the front peg down, throw the rear end over and as the bike is coming down it doesn’t really matter if the back end becomes level with the rail.

03
If you’ve got enough speed and kick-out your back end will come over the rail easily.
