Once you take off it’s important to move your bars in a circular motion to make your bike whip around as fast as possible, using the weight of the rear end to build momentum.
As you do this, don’t let the bike drift away from you. Instead, pull the bars in towards your legs and get your weight right over the bars.
Practice whipping the bike around with your bars before attempting it in a bunny hop. Do this by standing with your bike to one side, then lift it off the ground with your bars, now try moving the bars in a tight circular motion to whip your bike around to your opposite side. Once you’re confident with this try jumping on to the pedals as the bike whips around. When you can do both these steps you’re ready to try the whole thing in a bunny hop.
