The Bunny Hop. While it’s possibly the most basic BMX trick you’ll learn, it’s also the most fundamental. Once you get this one right a lot of other options will suddenly become apparent.

You’ll need to find a nice level bit of ground to begin with. Roll along at about walking pace to begin with, just make sure you’re comfortably balanced on your bike. When you’re ready to hop, you need to compress your body down, pulling your weight back on the bars and over the rear wheel.

Next, you want to throw all your weight up, pulling the bars into your waist. Imagine if you’re jumping on your feet on flat. You need to burst upwards to get off the ground; the motion isn’t that different on a bike.

As you do this, you’ll be pulling the weight of the bike upwards with you, as it does this, you need to start pushing forward with your arms, moving the bars away from you.
