If you’ve already done backflips onto foam, over a box or out of a fly-out then you’ll probably find flairs easy. Like most things with BMX, it’s just about commitment.

You’ll find these easier on bigger quarters, they’ll give you more time to get around. Something around 6 feet is ideal for learning. It’ll give you both the kick and the transition for spinning the trick.

To begin with don’t worry about blasting these out of the top of a quarter, imagine you’ve got enough speed to pop comfortably out onto the deck by a foot or two.
