The Disaster is a great trick to get you used to shifting your weight between the front and back ends of your bike. You can easily learn this trick on mellow, small ramps, but to get the most out of it, try it on a ramp similar to the one in the photos.
Tip: Use the left / right arrow keys

01
pproach the ramp almost straight on; don’t carve too much into this one. Not too much speed either. A little less than you’d need just to pop out of the top.

02
As you get to the top of the ramp, start to carve your normal way. Don’t pull out at all; let the bike drift towards the deck.

03
When you reach the top of the ramp, start to turn like you would in an air, only this time you’ll have very little carve. You’ll feel yourself almost coming back down exactly where you were. Don’t pull out either, as the back end comes around, push it over the deck.

04
The back end should ‘Hang-up’ on the deck when you reach 180 degrees, whilst your front end hangs over the coping. This can be a strange position to be in as it’s hard to balance. When both wheels are touching the ramp, hold your weight back over the back wheel.
