This looks incredibly cool – a feature length documentary about the history of ROM, aiming for release in 2018 to go along with the 40th anniversary of the skatepark (!)
It’s a serious production, with detailed interviews, archive clips and modern footage too. We can’t wait for this one!
ROM is truly unique in that it has Grade II Listed status. Everything about it is impressive, intriguing and gnarly. Filmmaker Matt Harris decided that the ROM story was well worth telling – this film will be covering a huge amount of BMX and skate history.

Rom Boys : 40 Years of Rad is a feature length documentary currently in production highlighting the history of Rom Skatepark, in Hornchurch. The only full size skatepark in the world to be historically listed.
Rom is a unique example of urban industrial skate architecture from the 70’s and still considered today as one of the gnarliest skateparks in the world.
This film covers the history of the park and its users, from the skaters of the 70s to the BMXers of the 80s through to the old skool skaters, many now in their fifties who keep the park alive today.
The film is aiming for a 2018 release date to tie in with Rom’s 40th anniversary.
