We all headed off from Manchester to Sheffield with a rough plan that one of us drew up the night before with Sheff as the first spot (by rough plan I mean we scribbled on Google Maps for 5 minutes and said “good enough.”)

Touching down in Sheffield we had a little cruise around, hitting Devonshire green and a few spots. We had no plan of where to sleep that night, so we got the gear and headed up to Stanage Edge to find a nice rock to camp under.  On Stanage Edge there’s a cave that opens up to a rock balcony called ‘Robin’s Hood Cave’, banger spot for night one.  Waking up the next morning to a crazy view was well worth spending a night sleeping in a cave in the pissing rain.

“The morning dog walkers watched as a bunch of 20 something BMXers went skinny dipping at 9am”

Still with no real plan we drove south to Nottingham where we found a little campsite with an actual working shower, which we’d find to be a damn luxury after rolling around on the streets all day.  Hit a few spots in Notts, Darby got a banger clip, standard stuff.  Time to sleep on the floor again.

On day three, we got a little unlucky with the weather, with a ‘plan’ to make it as far as we could we decided to hit up the undercover spot in Milton Keynes, at this point Gary and Ben drove down from Manchester to meet us and we got a decent little session in there hiding away from the rain.  Tad got in touch with his uncle, who owns a pub just South of Bristol.  With all pubs closed at this point he let us set up camp in the pub garden.  Tad got smashed there and ate a dragonfly, par for the course really.

Day four saw us heading into Bristol to meet up with some of the locals. We got the mandatory warm up in at Dean Lane before heading out and hitting a few spots.  I got a filthy wall ice which got lost to the dreaded VX glitch, still bitter about that.  The crew split that night with some of us dotted around Bristol for the night and some heading back to the pub.

Next morning we all linked back up in Bristol for another session, shoutout to all the locals for showing us around, the scene down there is the best.  Carrying on south for the night we set up camp on Dartmoor for a decent sleep.  Followed by a wake up wash in a reservoir with the morning dog walkers watching as a bunch of 20 something BMXers went skinny dipping at 9am. That day we had some time off the bikes and had a beach day, we are on our holidays after all.

Another night spent on Dartmoor, out of the way enough to not get bothered this time.  The next morning was wild, with us waking up to wild horses and a bull having a casual stroll through where we set up camp.  Back on the bikes, this time to a skatepark Chris found in Portsmouth.  This place was mad busy but Chris managed to send it, as always.  With the weather not looking great we were weighing up what to do, if we just call it there and head home.  That’s when Kayden came out with “It’s sunny in London.”  So London it was.

Day seven, last day of the trip.  Cruising around London was the best way to end it with everyone sending it and Chris busting out a huge bank to bank gap.  Kayden got his Weetabix that day and came out with some mad creative clips.  After that, time to head back.  Long drive back to Manchester, sleep deprived and broken.
