Best Edits of 2015: ROUND 3 – Underdogs

Pure expressions of the lifestyle of BMX.

We’ve recapped 2015’s biggest edits and the best UK edits, so now we felt it was time to let the underdogs shine. These are either the smaller names, the wilder crews, the looser events… You get the picture. Looking through these you get all the good vibes, it’s just great entertainment because these are the dudes out there simply doing it for fun. Pure expressions of the lifestyle of BMX. Enjoy.

Archetype are a crew and clothing brand who happen to be friends of mine. They’re talented videographers and know how to have a great time on a trip – I know from experience! This video saw them tripping over to Malaga with their whole team, riding a mixture of well-known and off-the-beaten-track spots and getting rad. Brad McNicol, Ben Basford, Sven Hackett and Karl Feix all deliver!

We’re all fans of the Hideout videos here at Ride UK. They’ve got a different quality to most other web edits, thanks to Rob Palmer’s filming and editing style. Keep it up, we say. Both these ‘Radventures’ edits were awesome, but for me it’s all about Robbo’s curved wall to wallride at the end of part one… So good.

A bit of a wildcard, I know… But who is this guy? All we know is that Harry Main filmed it…

This list wouldn’t be complete without a good old jam video. the ROM x FTL jam in July was a classic – crazy hot weather, huge crowd of riders, awesome riding, the stoke was high. I cruised around, got sunburnt and filmed this video.

Perhaps my favourite edit of the whole year. Wimborne aka WINborne in Dorset has a huge list of time-honoured BMX names local. Watch this and I think you’ll agree,  these guys win the fun award. What an awesome video!

Say what you like about Fathead. No, really, I don’t think he’ll care! Whatever you say, you can’t argue with his riding, which is the fundamental reason why he gets away with the various shenanigans he’s become known for. When this video came out I’m pretty sure it shut a few people up… You can’t hate those whips.

Lew Anderson is a local dude who I ride with pretty often. He’s long been ripping The Spot and surrounding areas, so I set about filming this edit with him over the summer. This dude is in the list because he’s awesome and deserves more recognition.

Speaking of The Spot… This video is something very special. Dan ‘Chez’ Moon managed to make some kind of twisted masterpiece – a 20-minute mix edit from the legendary Dream Boys, filmed all around London. It may be full of in-jokes and bizarre banter, but it welcomes all who care to approach it. An inspiration.
