We revisited some of the biggest airs of all time for our latest compilation video. Don’t worry, we have both of Matt Hoffman’s Highest Air attempts in there, they HAD to be in this vid. There’s a few UK favourites as well as riders from all over the world in this vid. I think it’s fair to say that we all love to see people go BIG, so this one’s dedicated to the hucker’s of our sport, those maniacs who love to push boundaries while soaring high in the sky like eagles (or condors even)…
What can you say about Mat Hoffman‘s highest air record back in 1993? The first attempt in 1991 wasn’t satisfying enough for the Condor so he decided to hit it again with even more gusto (and again recently) – Nothing will stop Mat, such a legend!
Hennon is a madman. He LOVES to blast high airs and goes big on a daily basis, rode with him a few times now and it’s fair to say he’s not scared. At NASS 2015 Ben Hennon went absolutely mental and hit the rafters (literally!) – Quick boost up to a heating vent handplant barspin back in. The crowd went wild!
A few of us at the Ride UK office brought this name up when we were thinking of riders who like to go big. Mutiny Bikes rider Dillon Lewis seems to have the boost button stuck on during this whole edit, can’t fault this kid at all!
I’ll always remember watching Dave Mirra blasting this huge vert ramp back in 2002 on Raw N’ Real. He kept pushing it higher and higher, then whacking a cheeky table in there for good measure as if it wasn’t rad enough! We will all miss Dave so much, this video sent tingles down my spine just hearing his voice again. #ripdavemirra
I was at this event and saw first-hand how stupidly big these dirt quarters actually were at Red Bull Quartermaster. Mike ‘Hucker’ Clarke was loving it though. No stranger to boosting into the stratosphere, Hucker kept bombing at this monster and managed to snag the win for ‘highest air’ – It was actually ridiculous looking back at it now…
RESERVOIR DOGS an epic part of UK BMX History without a doubt. A couple of the UK’s top pro riders headed to a reservoir in Sadberge which had one of the biggest transitions ever. Ben Hennon & Bas Keep carted a mini moto down a rope ladder, along with their bikes and continued to shred the place! Bas takes it to another level near the end…
I remember watching this X games a few years back and thinking how much of a sick guy Morgan Wade was. The dude is never scared, takes so many slams and keeps on going! Always thought it’d be cool to meet him and when I did at Quartermaster he was exactly like I expected, down to earth guy who loved BMX to the fullest and enjoyed going BIG on everything!
