Here’s Rick Thorne’s latest music video. He’s wearing some eyeliner and a silly hat while doing USA punk style music in that ditch from Terminator. The creativity does not stop there, he cunningly uses an old frame as a mic stand and a Skyway mag to hold it all up. BMX is Art.
The lyrics really struck a chord with me, in particular the line “sometimes you just want to run away“. Nothing has ever been further from the truth while watching this. It’s incredible when a song writer hits home with the power of verse. Think Morrissey, Curtis, Thorne.
‘Panty Droppin’ is still the greatest BMX inspired music video of all time…
Scotty Cramner and Ronnie Surridge still hold the award for greatest BMX inspired music video. If you want the world to love you, don’t stick your eyeliner riddled face into the camera moaning about how hard your life is. Hit money into it with a baseball bat while rapping “got it poppin poppin, strip club hoppin hoppin, catch us at the spot we’ll be straight up panty droppin“.
