Gordon… Gordon likes bikes. Gordon likes banter. Gordon is always up to something; sometimes funny and sometimes dangerous. Gordon is a risk taker…

Full Name: Gordon Davis
Age: 18
Occupation: Ugh… Currently between things. Haha
Home town: Brighton
Current City: Brighton
Years riding:
Top three riders: Garrett Reynolds, Drew Bezanson and Dennis Enarson in no particular order

Gordon, tell the beloved readers a little about yourself and what have you been doing during this shitty winter weather?

“I just love riding and always have the urge to get on my bike, it’s so fun. Well for this shit weather, I’ve been indoors a lot more than normal, trying to keep riding as much as I can, but the weather sure ain’t been helping. All I can say is bring on the summer! Well, I have been partying a fair bit too, it’s always good to go out ‘n’ get loose!”

As always, tell us how you got started riding bikes?

“I guess it all started when I was 10 years old. I had a blue Apollo mountain bike and brought it down my local park, The Level. I eventually got a BMX about 6 months down the line and from then all I’ve wanted to do is ride.”

Growing up and having the chance to meet and ride with some many good riders in your local area must have been great. Were you influenced by the Brighton riding scene from an early age?

“Oh yeah, it definitely has! I’ve loved seeing all the different riders come through and each with their different styles. The exposure to pro level riding that was brought by having both Brighton Ain’t Ready films shot in my home town is unbelievable. Getting a front row and behind the scenes view of the whole process that goes into that size of project has been real eye-opener.”

Where are some of your favourite places to ride? You rode at Boardmasters last summer, how was that?

“The Level, my local, for sure! It’s got so many lines and different ramps to ride, from the bowl to all the street jibs. There’s the indoor park in Bognor called The Base and Corby when I get the chance to ride there too. Yeah, Boardmasters was rad! Getting to be at a festival, party and then riding a BMX comp at the same time was such an experience, ha ha! Then every day that we were there went to a wooden park called Wooden Waves, it was so much fun too. I do enjoy a good wooden park session.”

A nicely dipped Toboggan. We had to ask the disgruntled Sainsbury's employees to shuffle off the stairs for this one. As you can see, they weren't too happy.

It’s literally freezing out now, but spring will arrive in a couple more months. What would you like to do this year, riding wise? Any ideas for trips you’d like to take or maybe more competitions you’d like to enter?

“The weather sucks so badly but that’s just the way of it unfortunately. I’m definitely keen to ride in foreign countries this year, maybe Barcelona as the street there looks insane. I’m going to enter Boardmasters again this year and hopefully NASS too.”

We did have plans to shoot a couple more photos, but you had a bit of an incident at the skatepark last night… What happened, are your teeth still in?

“Haha, yeah, I tried to 720 out of this small hump roller thing and messed up bad. I head butted my bars, even put a good dent in them! It’s the second time I’ve hit my teeth and I’ve kind of chipped away at another tooth. Luckily it’s not hurting that bad, I got away lightly to be honest.”

“Is this gonna look ok, or what?”

Right, that’s enough chat for now. I’m running out of questions. Is there anyone you’d like to give a shout to?

“Yeah for sure. You, Scott, for doing this and shooting the photos with me, cheers dude! All my family and friends who support me riding, Mad John for getting me into Boardmasters comp and all the other things. Nice one guys. Appreciated, cheers!”

A 'one-bang', the very first frame shot that night. Clicked alley-oop turndown at the very much frozen Level skatepark in Brighton.
