2015 ROUND UP: Bob Manchester

Bob is fun. When you meet him, you’ll soon realise this. He wants to have a good time, take the piss out of everyone (including himself), dress up, party hard and have a laugh. Watching him ride trails is a great experience – Bob is just so damn good at hitting big jumps, cue why there’s a massive set at his house where he holds the annual Yard Jam.

Bob’s rad, goes big, has great sponsors, parties hard… What a guy! Here are his favourite moments from 2015.

Austin Trip

Bob Manchester:
For my 2015 Hoffman video, me and my friends Matt Priest and Johnny Elia went to Texas to do a sick road trip starting in Austin (where thankfully Chase Hawk let us stay – cheers dude!) then heading all over Texas, just staying in shitty motels and riding rad parks and trails!

One of the best parts of that trip was being in America for Halloween! I was Gene Simmons and Priesty was Ozzy…

Villa Road trip: Malaga

Wow, Malaga! I’d never been before this Villa Road trip and will definitely go back! I went with my crew: Damo, Priesty, Inch, Tucker, Lima, Pipe, Pole, Mike King and Adam for a lads-on-tour BMX LOLiday! We rode bowls, street and trails and partied very hard.. Ended up with a palm tree tattoo on my hand, no money and no dignity!

Pumped BMX Signature Challenge

Getting a signature challenge on Pumped is such an honour! This game is so sick and I think pretty much every BMX rider has it. Shout out to Adam and Lima for creating an amazing game!

The Yard Jam / Work in Progress series

Work in Progress was a really fun project Mike King came at me with. He knew I was planning on doing another jam so he wanted to document the hard work that goes into building and organising a event. Not to mention working on a site and squeezing in riding, it can get pretty hectic!

So after a lot of digging and some really fun trips that Crucial BMX shop, Stay Strong and Hoffman Bikes all helped with, we pulled off the jam! Thank God the weather was on our side!

Indestructibles

The Indestructibles was a TV show I got asked to do by Dave TV. I didn’t really know what I was going to be doing until I got there. So they woke me up stupid early from my hotel and took me to a lake in Somerset. They then told me I was jumping 40ft into hoops for a BMX hole in one show! And it was nuts!

After jumping into this lake all day getting battered with cold blue lips my boy Craig Teague finally got the hole in one! It was a mental idea but glad we got it in the end.

Nikon Video with Dunk

This video was soooooo fun to shoot! Literally just went down the trails ‘The Woodyard’ with my mate Inch who I always ride with and basically just did what we normally do best on a summer’s day – ride trails! It was so good to help Dunk with a video that shows people how much actually goes into the amazing photos he produces!
