CARBON CYCLES: eXotic Parts

Carbon Cycles is a name that’s new to us, but after checking out their products online and in the flesh, it could be a brand to remember. They offer a range of pedals, bars and stems for BMX riders, plus a few other options for racers and MTB riders.

CREATURE BARS

First up we have two bar options. The black set are a 9in rise, 30in wide bar while the green are slightly smaller at 8in rise and 28in wide. They feel light but look solid, thanks to butted tubing and a smaller radius crossbar. The price point is amazing – these come in at less than £30 – so if you’re looking for new bars on a budget, these are a legit option! There’s a bit of eXotic detailing on the crossbar and at the rear, by the clamp area, which is quite subtle but provides a bit of character. All in all, decent bars, great price.

eXotic BMX handlebar takes the pounding and keeps on going due to multiple butting of the tube and generous radius bends. Available in various sizes and colours with antislip diamond cut pattern in the clamping area.

If plastic pedals are your cup of tea, but you like the grip of metal pins and the advantages of sealed bearings, check these out. It’s not often you see a set of plastic pedals with replaceable metal pins AND sealed bearings! With spare parts kits available, these should serve you very well. Plus they’re priced at less than £25 and come in a wide range of colours – what more could you ask for?

Lightweight flat pedals with nylon-reinforced composite body and sealed cartridge bearings. This pedal is seriously grippy, comes in 6 different colours and can really take a beating.

Replaceable and adjustable pins allow you to customise the level of grip you need and will make this pedal last that little bit longer –even after hours of abuse.

The ultra durable and super sleek injection moulded body is not just light and tough but is also less prone to scratch and damage.

And to keep things running smooth this pedal comes with aCNC-machined Cr-Mo axle on sealed cartridge bearing as standard and features rubber lip seals between the axle end and pedal body to prevent water and dirt to come get into the bearings and to keep them going for longer in between services.
