Street legend Simone Barraco is part of the Pro team at Ryan Sher’s Subrosa. His current signature frame is the ‘Noster V2’ in either Translucent Gold or Matte Black, made from 4130 chromoly tubing. There is also a set of ‘Noster’ two-piece bars, made from 13-butted and heat-treated chromoly tubing with a slightly smaller box section for increased grip area.
Born in the Italian city of Genoa, Simone was a gymnast until the age of 14, but got into riding after playing ‘Mat Hoffman BMX 2’ on the PlayStation. Just a year later, he rode in his first race. His first major competition performances came in 2010, when he won Street Heroes in Romania and finished fourth at VANS Rebeljam in Portimão, Portugal.
In 2011, his progress continued, as he finished sixth at Rebeljam, this time in Eindhoven, Holland, and the following year he finished 13th in his first appearance at the prestigious Simple Session. Thanks to a Nike BMX video filmed in Tel Aviv, he also came to the attention of the people who matter at the X Games, and he was invited to take part in the 2012 edition, where he finished fifth.
Over the past couple of years, Simone has kept everyone talking with great competition performances, including a sixth place at 2013 Texas Toast and a third place at the 2014 Munich Mash, as well as some impressive web edits showcasing his smooth, creative style. In September 2014, wearing both his Subrosa and Red Bull hats, he spent time riding the parks of Japan.
