British-born street allrounder Ben Lewis is part of the team at Fit Bike Co – his signature ‘Benny’ range of products for the brand includes a simple, no-gimmicks, ultra-responsive frame for the tech shredder, as well as a complete, four-piece bars, front-load stem with short reach and slightly dipped front, and grips.
Among his other sponsors are Animal, DUB BMX, Quintin Hat Co., The Source and Monster. He is also in Etnies BMX line-up where his signature product is a ‘Rap CL’ with unique grey, red and white colourway.
Ben grew up in Liverpool, although his father was away from home for most of his childhood working as a roadie and manager for some of the biggest rock bands in the world. Young Ben began his BMX career in the same school playground that Geoff Rowley began his skating career, and has gone on to become one of the UK’s most progressive street riders, gaining the respect of all his contemporaries through his chilled-out attitude to life, determination, technical style and willingness to travel insane distances to try out new spots.
Over the last few years, his tech manoeuvres and ability to spot lines few others can see have been on show on the prestigious Dew Tour – in 2012 and 2013 he competed in the Street competition in San Francisco, and in 2014 he finished 13th overall in Street in Brooklyn, New York.
