Alex Coleborn is on the Total BMX team with Mark Webb, Kyle Blake and Jack Watts. He first rode a BMX in 2005 at the age of 13, and has been impressing BMX onlookers ever since with his technical wizardry, consistently landing a series of mind-blowing tech combos, including his favourite bar to whiplash.
His big breakthrough came in 2010 when he finished eleventh in the Park competition at the Nike BCN BMX Pro in Barcelona. He followed that up with a seventh place in Mini-Ramp at FISE in Montpellier later that year, and he made his first appearance at the X Games in 2011, an experience he describes as ‘a dream come true’.
In 2013, he competed at the NASS Festival, before going on to dominate at Boardmasters in Cornwall – he first took the victory in the Canadian Tech Trick competition, and, the following day, he continued his exceptional form with a first place overall in the BMX finals with a winning performance featuring huge airs, tech tricks and terrifying slams as he chased a triple tail whip.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for Alex – a broken hip at the 2012 Red Bull Skyline in Paris threatened to end his entire career – but he remains on course to achieve his dream of making it big in America. Born on Jersey in the Channel Islands, he is now based in Corby, where his local park is Adrenalin Alley, a place he rates as the best to ride in the country.
