For those who don’t know, how did the whole Nike 6.0 BMX program deal come about for you?
Well at the time Nike 6.0 only had one BMX rider, which was Garrett Reynolds and they were looking to expand and go full force with their BMX program. Mark Losey [USA Team Manager] had seen something in me that only a few other people saw. So he got in contact with me about the program and its new direction and the rest is history. I definitely want to give Losey a big thanks.
Have you always been a ‘sneaker’ head?
Yeah I’m a huge fan of footwear, especially sneakers. I usually start with sneakers when I get dressed.
Did you choose the Nike 6.0 Mavrk model specifically for your colourway?
Yeah, anyone who knows me, knows that the Mavrk is one of my favourite shoes and I love to ride in them. So when it came down to what shoe I would pick it wasn’t hard to decide.
Why the Purple and Gold pop on the shoe?
Purple and gold are two of my favourite colours, so it was just automatic that they’re a part of my first shoe.
Whats the deal with the different materials on each foot?
Ostrich on the right foot and Crocodile on the left? Well croc and ostrich are two materials that I’m really into. I wanted to do something a little different with this shoe. I feel those materials adds life and helps get the whole point of the Ltd Edition shoe across.
Have you and Nike 6.0 got any further plans for colourway/colab options in the future [footwear or apparel]?
I really enjoyed myself with this project and its always a treat working with a company like Nike, but you guys will just have to wait and see what’s next.
Any message to the lucky reader who wins this one Ltd Ed pair here in the UK?
To the reader who wins, I hope you enjoy them. Ride on!
