You’re thumbs are probably about to drop off with Pumped BMX 2. The developers (Adam and Yeah Us!) know this and so do we. So we teamed up with them to give you some hints and tips.
Here’s how to fire out a big score without crashing too early into your session:
There’s a small delay before you start Pumping downwards after you takeoff, so to get max speed wait until just after you takeoff release Pump.
Small tap for slow spins, hold spin for quicker spins. Holding Pump speeds up your spin slightly, so you can start diving a little bit sooner than you think you can.
Leaning (be gentle)
It’s much easier to control the bike if you lean your phone/ipad gently. The longer you hold your device in a lean, the faster you’ll spin.
Try prewinding. e.g. tilt your device back before takeoff to do a faster backflip, tilt forward to do a faster frontflip. Try holding leaning for as long as possible before a jump: you’ll spin super fast!
Big scores mean mental combos. Start linking tricks as soon as you’re comfortable with the basics.
Manuals and Nose Manuals
You get a tiny bit more speed out of manuals and nose manuals, but they also link your tricks together for massive score combos.
If you miss the instructions for how to do these, just double tap the joystick to switch to oppo spin!
Once you’ve unlocked them, just land in a feeble position to do a feeble or a smith position to do a smith. Easy!
Come back later
This old chestnut crops up in real riding when you’re not feeling something and you fancy a revisit. You can do the same in the game. If there’s a challenge you’re struggling with hit up some other levels and get more used to things. Then pop back and smash it.
Have a play with boost and racers, tricks in grinds, tricks in manuals. You can do some pretty crazy tricks with a bit of experimentation!
