Why did you become a photographer?
Money, honeys.
Rough estimated number of photos taken in a lifetime?
25000 maybe? I’ve kept 9000 on my computer and have just over 1000 on my website.
Your inspiration?
What’s in front of the camera. Anything else and you’re not going to make interesting photos. Appreciate technique by all means — the way someone tackles a subject through film, photography, literature; whatever — but if that was my primary inspiration I feel like might as well be submitting straight to iStock.
Photography’s ups and downs?
Ups: images as memory, getting other people psyched. Downs: camera gear.
